Preserving the culture of the Mbube people.
The Mbube Heritage Foundation is devoted to the preservation of the culture of the Mbube people of Ogoja, Cross River State, Nigeria: the Mbe language, the oral tradition, the history, the music and the way of life, gathered and kept so that they outlast any one generation.
A cultural organization devoted to the preservation of the culture of Mbube.
We are gathering, preserving, and sharing the language, history, music and traditions of the Mbube people of Ogoja, Nigeria.
Our mission is to make what we gather available to everyone specifically interested in Mbube or the wider story of Africa's languages and peoples.
We would like to hear from you.
If you hold anything of Mbube heritage, or know someone who does, it starts with a message.
Something you hold
Recordings, papers, photographs, letters, songs, a grandparent's stories.
Someone we should meet
An elder, a singer, a storyteller, a family with old papers, a Mbube association at home or abroad.
Every recording, photograph and story shared today is one the Mbube people will still have tomorrow.
